Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
This famous quote by Albert Einstein is the tagline for this site. Congressional approval ratings continue to be as low as they’ve ever been. Between 69-81% of the population of the US disapproves of the job the congress is doing. There are about 57 members of the House of Representatives that have served more than 20 years, 223 serving more than 10 years.
The foxes are guarding the hen house, as they say. It is clear that they cannot limit themselves. Any efforts to pass constitutional term limits are futile… the congress just won’t have it. They have shown the power of being incumbents.
It is time to end their power. It is time to limit their terms. Not by legislation, but by voting. The idea is that no one, at any level of government, gets to serve consecutive terms. And we’ll even take the idea a bit further. No one should go from one elected position to the next. You don’t go from the House to the Senate to the Presidency. At least not without some significant time between in the “real” world.
Don’t get us wrong, we are in favor of a constitutional amendment. But that’s very unlikely. Our elected officials are not inclined to vote themselves out of their lucrative jobs.
We can take America back. Reelect no one.
This site leans to the right, but term limits know no party. We’re equal opportunity. We need to constantly resupply the Senate and the House of Representatives with men and women like Ron Paul. We need those who will actual uphold the consitution of the United States of America.
